Job summary

General Motors is seeking a technically strong Technical Specialist to lead the development and integration of embedded software for On-Board Charging Module (OBCM) systems. This role will provide overall technical direction for OBCM software and controls, from concept and requirements through implementation, validation, and production release.

The ideal candidate combines strong embedded C/C++ software experience with deep knowledge of automotive power electronics, especially AC/DC and DC/DC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering or related.
• 5+ years in OBC/OBCM or automotive power conversion and embedded controls.
• Experience taking embedded software from requirements to production release.
• Strong hands-on embedded C/C++ and real-time software development.
• Knowledge of AC/DC conversion, PFC, DC/DC, PWM, protection, and control-loop stability.
• Ability to analyze software and controls across vehicle levels.
• Requirements-to-test traceability and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of OBCM embedded software across the product lifecycle.
• Define software interfaces, verification methods, and production acceptance criteria.
• Develop control strategies for AC/DC and DC/DC conversion and power-flow management.
• Provide technical direction for control-loop design, state machines, PWM, and protection.
• Review architecture and algorithms to ensure production-ready solutions.
• Collaborate with SSLEs, HWIO, hardware, safety, validation, calibration, and suppliers.
