Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead embedded systems projects and drive the full software lifecycle for flight-critical systems. You will work with a team to design, develop, and document software for aerospace applications in a fast-paced, agile environment.

The role requires a strong background in C/C++ on embedded platforms, Linux experience, and leadership abilities to guide cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated technical leadership of software engineering teams and/or projects.
• Experience with large-scale, safety-critical embedded software projects.
• Experience with C and/or C++ software development on embedded systems.
• Experience with Object Oriented Design and Linux.
• Familiarity with Software Configuration Management practices and tools such as Git.
• Desire to use AI-assisted tooling in development.

Responsibilities

• Author and drive processes for capturing system and implementation requirements; establish acceptance criteria and plan integration and test activities.
• Participate in and provide team vision for increment planning and backlog grooming.
• Take ownership of the team backlog and subsequent implementation.
• Develop software products following modern engineering practices across the SDLC.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including customers, vendors, and QA teams; support cross-functional activities.
