Job summary

Very is seeking a Lead Embedded Electrical Engineer for remote work in the United States. You will collaborate with software, hardware, and product teams to deliver end-to-end hardware/software solutions for connected devices, focusing on electrical design, manufacturability, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering and product development.
  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Expert-level proficiency in electrical schematic capture (Altium).
  • Proven ability to perform complex PCB layout with high‑speed signal integrity and PDN analysis.
  • Deep experience with embedded systems design and peripheral integration.
  • Hands‑on experience with hardware bring‑up, debugging, and validation.
  • Strong understanding of DFM and DFT principles.
  • Experience with power supply design and low‑power battery-operated designs.
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols (BLE, WiFi, cellular) and RF considerations.
  • Experience ensuring regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, UL).

Responsibilities

  • Personally bring up, debug, and validate hardware prototypes.
  • Design custom PCBAs from concept through production.
  • Perform thorough electrical validation and troubleshooting.
  • Use oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to debug hardware designs.
  • Ensure designs are production-ready before handoff to manufacturing.
  • Architect electrical sub-systems for new IoT products.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers to scale designs.
  • Own hardware designs end-to-end from concept to production readiness.
