Job summary

Symbiotic Services is seeking a Lead Embedded Systems Engineer to architect a scalable, Go-powered edge/cloud platform for next-generation smart bed technology. You will drive real-time MCU software, embedded Linux expertise, and distributed system design.

The role emphasizes replacing legacy Bluetooth with Wi-Fi/MQTT, and close collaboration with a Dallas-based founder to define embedded strategy and standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years embedded firmware development (C/C++, ideally Go).
• Deep familiarity with embedded Linux (Debian or Yocto).
• Strong understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT.
• Expertise in multi-threaded and multi-process system design.
• Proficiency with Git and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Demonstrated initiative through side projects, open-source contributions, or research work.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time MCU applications on Debian/Yocto.
• Define scheduling models and concurrency for time-critical tasks.
• Architect and maintain C/C++ and Go state machines, message brokers, and APIs.
• Migrate from Bluetooth LE to Wi-Fi + MQTT for device communication.
• Build containerized cross-compilation toolchains and CI/CD hardware simulators.
• Define coding standards, code review guidelines, and Git branching strategies.
• Partner with data scientists to design pipelines for time-series data.
• Support model deployment and on-device inference.
