Job summary

Align Technology in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to define and develop next-generation firmware for consumer electronics and medical devices. You will lead architecture and drive real-time, low-power designs across hardware, firmware, and product teams.

A strong background in C/C++, BLE/Wi‑Fi, secure boot, embedded security, and leadership is required to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded software development experience in consumer electronics, wearables, medical devices, or IoT.
• Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ for embedded applications.
• Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures, embedded OS, memory and real-time systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and debugging of embedded firmware for new products and major product enhancements.
• Drive firmware direction and critical design decisions around performance, power, reliability, security, and manufacturability.
• Develop and optimize device drivers, middleware, and platform software for MCUs, processors, peripherals, and sensors.
• Design real-time, low-power, wireless solutions for resource-constrained systems.
• Lead hardware-software integration, system bring-up, debugging, and performance optimization.
