Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Electronic Development Engineer, Gateways (Starlink), to own the design, performance, and reliability of gateway hardware used in the Starlink network. You will oversee cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable hardware capable of surviving harsh environments while supporting global connectivity.

The role requires leadership across electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, and RF engineering, with expectations of hands-on design, validation, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or physics.
• 3+ years of professional hardware design/development or electronics test engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3–5 engineers to design, develop, and test reliable Gateway electronics.
• Drive electrical architecture, spec, component selection, and PCB design.
• Optimize designs to improve reliability and reduce defects.
• Create automated design validation assets to speed development cycles.
• Mentor direct reports for product ownership and decisive action.
• Collaborate with antenna, software, mechanical, networking, thermal, and test teams.
