Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to design, develop, fabricate, test and troubleshoot Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used to test the Orion spacecraft for NASA Artemis missions. You will lead a small engineering team ensuring the technical integrity of racks and test systems.

Based in Colorado, the role requires hands-on leadership of 3–4 engineers, collaboration with manufacturing, and experience with electronics design, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Experience designing or supporting Electrical Ground Support Equipment
• Experience in electronics design and/or test of electrical hardware

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of 3 to 4 engineers in designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting a suite of EGSE end item designs and racks that all test unique subsystems of the Orion spacecraft
• Review and update engineering drawings and documentation created by your team for test equipment racks, chassis, cables and other assemblies to ensure their technical integrity
• Support manufacturing during procurement, build and modification of EGSE equipment
• Perform testing of ground support equipment for a variety of electronic component assemblies
• Support EGSE during usage testing the Orion spacecraft, assisting users and troubleshooting anomalies
• Certify that the final EGSE products meet all requirements and that engineering drawings, documents and paperwork accurately represent the as‑built product
• Research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems.
