Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Test Technician III to support and lead the development, build, integration, deployment, and sustainment of complex electro-mechanical test equipment for unmanned systems.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, provide technical leadership in fabrication and rapid prototyping, and contribute to design improvement, validation, and process optimization efforts to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent and/or equivalent certificate from a technical school.
• Experience in designing machined parts, simple composite parts, sheet metal parts, wire & cable assemblies, mechanical assemblies.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience designing complex electro-mechanical assembly systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate electro-mechanical test systems, tooling and fixtures.
• Sustain electromechanical automated test equipment on production floor and supplier sites.
• Assist test equipment designers from concept through build, test and deployment.
• Lead fabrication, validation, deployment and process improvements.
• Design and implement circuit boards, including component selection, schematic capture, layout, bring-up, and documentation.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of integrated systems.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment and track projects and materials.
• Provide rapid prototyping fabrication and assembly services.
