Job summary

Jacobs in Jackson, MS is seeking a Lead Electrician to support the city's critical water and wastewater facilities. You will lead a team, perform electrical maintenance, and execute the preventive maintenance program designed for the site.

The role requires 4+ years in operations of water/wastewater plants or similar, plus strong skills with MS Word/Excel/Outlook and maintenance management systems, and a valid driver's license. Onsite work with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Four (4) plus years of experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants or similar.
• Experience leading teams and assigning work.
• Proficient in the use of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and to enter data into a maintenance management system.
• Proficient in the use of plant SCADA systems and software.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with no major infraction.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains all facility electrical wiring and fixtures in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and building codes using appropriate hand and electrician's tools.
• Installs and repairs electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
• Repairs and maintains major equipment such as motors, generators, and electrical control systems.
• Tests defective equipment to determine the cause of malfunction or failure using standard electrical test equipment.
• Inspects circuits and wiring for specified shielding and grounding and repairs or rewires plant equipment systems according to state building codes and safety regulations.
• Maintains the files necessary to support all maintenance activities.
