Job summary

The City of Amarillo seeks a Master Electrician to support the Utilities Department, under the Assistant Water Production Superintendent. Expect hands-on work with 480V/2300V systems, preventive maintenance, and coordination with the Chief Electrician.

Candidates must hold a Texas Master Electrician license and a high school diploma, with experience in electrical trades and industrial maintenance. A valid Texas driver’s license is required; CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a State of Texas Master Electrician License.
• Experience in electrical trade and/or industrial maintenance.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License (CDL preferred).
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code and lockout/tagout policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative and emergency electrical maintenance at water/wastewater facilities.
• Install and repair 480V and 2300V systems and related components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and O&M manuals.
• Coordinate daily work with the Chief Electrician and maintain records.
