Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo is seeking an Electrician I to inspect, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems and equipment. Work is performed to required safety codes with no supervisory responsibilities, and on-call rotations may apply.

The position requires a High school diploma or GED and a Licensed Journeyman Electrician with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (or equivalent experience).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (or other state), OR a combination of job-related experience and training to equal four (4) years.
• Employment is contingent upon background checks as per state/federal law.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices of the electrical trade.
• Working knowledge of safety precautions for the electrical trade.
• Ability to read penciled sketches and blueprints.
• Skill in using standard electrical trade tools and equipment.
• Skill in locating and correcting defects in electrical systems and equipment.
