Job description

Lead Electrician/Foreman - PV Solar

Green Solar Systems LLC is a locally owned and operated PV Solar firm based in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County. We are seeking a lead Electrician to oversee our team of electricians, including leading, training, and confirming work. A strong electrical background with management skills is required.

Responsibilities - Lead Electrician - Residential/Commercial/Municipal/Industrial
  1. Install PV Solar systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid for residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial projects.
  2. Ensure all work performed by electricians is of good workmanship and complies with current NEC and local codes.
  3. Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
  4. Safely plan and execute Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
  5. Collaborate with the design team to support system upgrades and repairs for solar equipment.
  6. Coordinate with local inspectors to meet local requirements and expectations.
  7. Install backup batteries and whole-home generators.
  8. Train new electricians.
  9. Communicate effectively with site managers, engineers, and upper management.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Represent the company positively, aligning with its mission and values.
  2. Commission, test, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and modify AC and DC solar PV systems, including inverters, PV modules, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems.
  3. Prioritize personal safety, quality of work, and adherence to schedules.
  4. Perform operations and maintenance tasks such as measuring, testing, and documenting system components.
  5. Ensure all documentation and reports are completed, reviewed, and filed properly.
  6. Collaborate across departments to resolve plant issues.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. OSHA 10/OSHA 30 certification.
  2. Proven experience in electrical work and management roles.
  3. Valid Driver's License.
  4. Knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and power systems.
  5. Understanding of safety procedures, codes, and guidelines.
  6. Management, supervisory, or foreman experience.
  7. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  8. Good time management skills.
  9. Understanding of NEC regulations.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
