Job summary

Vaagen Bros. Lumber Inc. in Usk, WA is seeking a Lead Electrician on the swing shift to lead and supervise the electrical team, manage maintenance and scheduling, and foster teamwork across processing and maintenance staff.

The role requires overseeing wiring, controls, programming of manufacturing equipment, safety, and lean initiatives while ensuring on-time project delivery and line efficiency. Candidates should have electrical certification or degree, PLC experience (Allen Bradley

Qualifications

Electrical certification or degree preferred.
Knowledge of motors and synchronous motor attributes.
Experience with 4-20 mA instrumentation, servo systems, and feedback devices.
2+ years of electrical design, Logic Controls, and project management.
Manufacturing environment experience; lumber experience a plus.
Strong teamwork, communication on project status and process improvements.
Ability to troubleshoot, maintain safe work record, and good attendance.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the electrical team, including performance reviews and training.
Manage electrical maintenance and calibration of equipment and controls.
Coach and mentor team members; ensure safety first.
Oversee wiring schematics, blueprints, and control-system programming.
Design, install, and commission manufacturing equipment.
Improve line efficiency and respond to process improvement targets.
Maintain safe work area and lean practices; promote cross-department communication.
Complete maintenance requests and document ideas.
