Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Electrical Inspector for our Antioch, CA offices, with consideration for Ranco Cordova, Roseville, San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland. You will support the Project Management/Construction Management Team, inspecting electrical installations across industrial, commercial, and highway projects while ensuring compliance with NEC and state standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 9 years of electrical inspection experience, and a valid CA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 9 years of electrical inspection or installation experience in industrial/commercial/highway/public works.
• Extensive experience with the NEC.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and materials.
• Experience with Caltrans Standards Plans/Specifications/Construction Manual.
• Understanding of public construction contracts for state highway systems and local agencies.
• Ability to review drawings and contract specs.
• Proficient in reading/writing English.
• Ability to review submittals and RFIs; respond.
• Ability to inspect and document site work and material testing.
• Valid CA driver’s license.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer with inspections and documentation of contractor activities.
• Apply construction inspection principles to report and resolve issues.
• Inspect various systems including industrial/commercial electrical work, SCADA, PLCs, fiber optics, and highway lighting.
• Review plans and specifications for constructability and report findings.
• Ensure safety and adhere to WSP policies and code of conduct.
• Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
