Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full Time Assistant Resident Engineer for our Antioch, California office. You will join our PMCM team and support field engineering, contract administration, inspections, and quality control on road/rail projects spanning the San Francisco Bay Area.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, at least seven years of related experience, knowledge of codes such as Caltrans, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years of directly relevant experience including Resident Engineer or related roles
• Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards and materials (e.g. Caltrans)
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to policies
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of client construction specifications and contract management
• Supervise, develop and train field staff and other project staff
• Inspect and review work per drawings and specifications
• Field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying, quality control
• Review project documentation for acceptance (pay apps, change orders, submittals, drawings)
• Act as main contact between client, project team and contractors
• Manage construction management team and sub-consultants
• Review contractor schedules and non-conforming work
• Attend/lead construction meetings with client and contractors
• Prospect clients for future CM opportunities
• Uphold ethical standards and company policies
