Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans, LA, seeks an Electrical Supervisor to ensure safe, reliable operation of electrical systems across a large healthcare campus. You will oversee maintenance staff and support critical infrastructure for patient care, including emergency power and life safety systems.

Lead a team of electricians, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance with NFPA/NEC, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards in a 24/7 hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• Licensed electrician (Journeyman or Master preferred, depending on state requirements).
• 5–10+ years of electrical experience, with at least 2-4 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in healthcare or large commercial/industrial facilities strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and schedule a team of electricians and electrical technicians.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, emergency generators, and life-safety lighting.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs; coordinate rapid repairs.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, Joint Commission, OSHA; maintain documentation.
• Coordinate electrical work for renovations, expansions, and capital projects; track budgets and timelines.
• Enforce safety practices and lead risk assessments.
