Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health seeks an electrician to maintain electrical distribution across its facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting, documenting actions and ensuring safety compliance.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years of commercial or light industrial electrical experience, and an electrical license. Knowledge of NEC and local codes is essential; flexibility for nights/weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Knowledge of State/Parish and Building Codes.
• Ability to use power and hand tools and specialized equipment for electrical trades.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, maintains and repairs complex electrical systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance and documents actions.
• Troubleshoots general electrical issues.
• Performs minor electrical installs as needed (e.g., receptacles, switches).
• Responds to emergencies and may be assigned to work on-site during severe weather or disasters.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
