Job summary

NR Consulting is seeking a Chief Estimator to lead electrical estimating for commercial and residential projects. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, review drawings and specifications, and analyze labor, materials, and subcontractor needs to ensure accurate bids.

The role requires strong electrical estimating experience, proficiency with Accubid and MS Office, and the ability to mentor estimators while collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field leadership to drive pricing

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical estimating experience; senior/lead estimator preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints and specifications; ability to prepare detailed cost breakdowns for commercial and residential projects.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes and construction practices.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills; develop accurate budgets.
• Leadership abilities to mentor junior estimators and improve processes.
• High school diploma required; degree beneficial.
• Experience with Accubid is required (3+ years).

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating activities for electrical projects, prepare detailed cost estimates, review drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field leadership to clarify scope, assess risks, and support project planning.
• Manage estimating pipeline and maintain cost databases.
• Mentor estimators and participate in bid reviews.
• Collaborate on pricing strategies and business development opportunities.
