Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an Electrical Engineer 5 to serve as the technical project lead for the next-generation attack submarine electric plant. Reporting to the E11 Manager of the Future Propulsion Electrical team, the role drives design, coordinates across disciplines, and serves as the primary technical liaison with the customer.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET accredited) with 14+ years of exempt experience; Master’s with 12 years or PhD with 9

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program with 14 years of exempt experience or higher.
• Master's degree with 12 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. with 9 years accepted.
• Strong leadership and ability to liaise with customers and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design of the next-generation electric plant for submarine propulsion.
• Coordinate across disciplines to drive design and interface with customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage budget, schedule, and materials considerations.
