Job summary

Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to lead a Space Flight Systems team in Houston, TX. This hands-on leadership position oversees design, development, testing, and integration of electrical and embedded systems for spaceflight hardware.

The role blends technical engineering with project management, requiring collaboration with vendors, customers, MISSE/ISS stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and robust performance in orbit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of progressive electrical and embedded circuit and system design experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing spaceflight and/or aerospace hardware.
• 3+ years of project engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Altium and basic project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Electrical Engineering team, including assignments, mentoring, design reviews, and execution.
• Remain hands-on while providing technical leadership to other engineers.
• Design electrical circuits and embedded systems for spaceflight equipment with limited supervision.
• Program embedded systems for spaceflight hardware, payload interfaces, and ground support equipment.
• Assist MISSE customers and Principal Investigators to ensure experiments meet ISS/MISSE requirements and are delivered on time.
• Collaborate with integration engineers for payload integration.
• Design electronics and software interfaces and assist with testing and integration.
• Support MISSE avionics including upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Write software as required and produce build packages for vendors.
• Perform hands-on assembly and testing of flight hardware and environmental testing.
