Job summary

High Power Products is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to head the design of low and medium‑voltage power distribution equipment, from concept through production. You will develop and review schematics, perform power studies, specify components, and ensure UL/IEEE compliance while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• PE license preferred or eligible within 12 months.
• 5–10+ years in switchgear, power distribution, or industrial electrical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with relay programming and arc flash analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of UL891, UL1558, ANSI C37, and IEEE standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Detail-oriented with multi‑project management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain switchgear schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Lead electrical design from customer specs to release.
• Configure relay protection and program relays.
• Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
• Collaborate with mechanical, production, and project teams.
• Review and approve electrical documentation per UL/ANSI/IEEE/NEC standards.
• Provide technical support during production and field startup.
• Mentor junior engineers and drafters.
• Stay current with power system codes and best practices.
