Job summary

Switchgear Magazine is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead the design of medium- and high-voltage power distribution and substation projects. You will develop complete engineering packages, including single/three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring, layout plans, and related documentation.

The role requires collaboration with project managers, field teams, and customers, ensuring quality, constructability, and compliance while delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and design of medium- and high-voltage power distribution and substation projects, delivering safe, reliable, and innovative solutions.
• Independently develop complete engineering packages including single/three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring, cable/conduit plans, and equipment layout plans for turnkey projects.
• Coordinate electrical and civil design packages to ensure quality, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Drive project success by managing design deliverables, schedules, budgets, and technical accuracy in partnership with project managers, field teams, and customers.
• Apply value-driven engineering practices to optimize designs, improve efficiency, and deliver cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or performance.
