Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office seeks an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Power Delivery team. This is not a remote position and includes opportunities to mentor staff and lead large-scale electrical design projects.

You will develop electrical layouts, one-line diagrams, and system analyses for renewable generation, storage, and substation projects while collaborating across offices and client sites.

Qualifications

• Requires 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Understanding of NEC, NESC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, and utility-scale substation projects.
• Develop design documents and reports: electrical layouts, schematics, calculations, and one-line diagrams.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Kimley-Horn offices.
• Prepare project specifications, cost estimates, and proposals to grow Power Delivery services.
• Mentor and grow the Power Delivery team.
• Develop reports and design documents including solar sizing and power analyses.
