Continental Electrical Construction Co. in Oak Brook, IL seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer, PE to lead design projects for mission-critical facilities, mentor a 3–5 person engineering team, and ensure code-compliant designs across all project phases.

This full-time, hybrid role requires 7–10+ years of electrical design experience, a PE license (or within 12 months), and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP, and NEC standards; travel to Chicagoland sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on building electrical systems.
• 7–10+ years of electrical engineering design experience for commercial, institutional, or mission-critical facilities; data center experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and coordinating multi-discipline projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for electrical system design across all project phases, ensuring quality and code compliance.
• Develop and review electrical designs including power distribution, generators/UPS, lighting and life-safety systems.
• Produce design deliverables such as one-line diagrams, specs, schedules, floor plans, and BIM/Revit models.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–5 engineers with coaching and performance feedback.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and contractors to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
