Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; a Master's is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years in solar, energy storage, or microgrid work on utility-scale projects.
• Deep understanding of grid-scale energy storage and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Strong knowledge of interconnection requirements and utility-scale project execution.
• Familiarity with NEC 705/706, IEEE 1547, UL 9540/9540A/1973, NFPA 855, IEC; translate into design criteria.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and ETAP or SKM for fast concept layout.
• PE license preferred; PM/EPC coordination experience a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical front-end scope for early-phase pursuits, coordinating across BD, product, and EPC teams.
• Develop concept and preliminary electrical designs, site layouts, and single-line diagrams.
• Establish Basis of Design and design criteria, including AC/DC architecture and protection.
• Perform screening-level power system studies to size equipment and define study scope.
• Support interconnection strategy with grid operators and deliver feasibility studies.
• Document compliance framework and develop design options in coordination with fire life-safety.
• Drive information-request checklists and hand off electrical scope to detailed design.
