Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for our Greenville, SC office. You will lead electrical design for multi-disciplinary teams on high-profile projects, with emphasis on healthcare facilities and sustainable building performance.

You will oversee design from inception through construction close-out, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with owners, architects, and regulators to meet project objectives and codes. WSP offers strong growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design for capital projects.
• Engineer license required or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical infrastructure design, esp. healthcare facilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of energy codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
• Interest in renewable energies and sustainable, high-performing buildings.
• Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners.
• Coordinate design activities with multi-discipline team members.
• Design of electrical distribution systems, fire alarm systems, lighting and controls.
• Perform electrical load, short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
• Provide construction administration and project oversight from inception to close-out.
• Attend client meetings and interact with regulatory agencies and subcontractors.
