Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Building Engineering Services Group in Houston. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, lead electrical design on projects, and ensure code compliance while engaging clients and influencing project outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, have 10+ years in building electrical design, and are proficient with REVIT, AutoCAD, SKM, and ETAP; experience with life safety and building management systems is valuable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
• Experience with generator sizing and photometric calculation software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical engineers and lead multi-discipline project teams.
• Establish client relations and participate in design meetings.
• Lead electrical on projects and ensure code compliance.
• Develop schematic, design development and contract documents on site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload to meet schedule and manage project financials within the agreed scope.
• Mentor staff and direct activities of other electrical engineers.
