Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and analyze battery packs, chargers, and safety systems in Woodridge, IL. You will lead concept phases, drive design activities, and report progress with limited supervision in a fully onsite role.

You should have 5–7 years in electrical design, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on PCB layout and power electronics experience. Knowledge of I2C/SPI/CAN/RS-232/USB, DFMEA, and manufacturing familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in electrical design and power electronics.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years in electronics manufacturing in consumer, telecom, automotive, or military industries.
• Proficient in PCB layout and electrical schematic capture using tools like Altium, Cadence, or Orcad.
• Strong understanding of digital and analog circuitry.
• Experience with system interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-232, USB, and/or Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics, layout, DFMEAs, and BOM generation.
• Perform worst-case analysis and de-rating.
• Develop robust hardware architecture for high reliability.
• Lead components selection and optimization for microcontrollers and BMS devices.
• Provide sustaining support and cross-functional collaboration for integration and manufacturability.
• Construct prototypes, evaluate performance, and identify improvements.
• Explore new circuit designs to solve design challenges.
