Job summary

Actalent is hiring an Electrical Engineer III for aerospace and UAV work in Huntsville, AL. You will design, develop, and evaluate electronic systems for small unmanned aircraft platforms, selecting components based on specifications, reliability, and performance.

The role requires hands-on hardware experience and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include PCB design with Altium, RF and FPGA work, and supporting flight tests.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5–8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience with RF, embedded control, or FPGA design.
• Experience with power electronics and battery technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts and hardware systems for UAVs.
• Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support flight test operations.
• Troubleshoot complex electronic systems and implement corrective actions.
• Travel up to 30% to support flight tests and on-site activities.
