Job summary

Actalent in Madison, AL is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support sustainment engineering for fielded UAS electrical systems, including air vehicles and ground control stations. You will perform root cause analysis, implement ECOs, and collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems teams.

The role involves updating schematics and wiring diagrams, developing and validating test plans, and supporting manufacturing with design for manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles including analog, digital, and power systems.
  • Ability to read and develop wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and hands-on debug skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) on fielded air vehicles and ground control stations, updating schematics, drawings, and documentation to reflect approved changes.
  • Support integration of new or replacement components into existing air vehicle and ground control station electrical systems, including obsolescence resolution and form/fit/function substitutions.
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues on fielded air vehicles and ground support equipment.
  • Assist with limited circuit board design and schematic capture updates as needed.
  • Develop and update test plans, specifications, and verification procedures for electrical systems.
  • Support electrical testing activities and validate system performance against requirements.
  • Participate in technical reviews and design reviews with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineering.
  • Support manufacturing engineering efforts, including design for manufacturability and production support.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including ECO packages, design notes, test results, and technical briefings.
