Job summary

Actalent is hiring an Engineering Technician in Madison, AL for hands-on testing, assembly, and optimization of UAV electronic systems. You will work with circuit boards, PCBA, and system-level electronics, performing bench testing and troubleshooting in a mixed development and production environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with electrical engineers, adherence to IPC standards, and the ability to interpret drawings and schematics.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electronics testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with PCB/PCBA and system-level electronics.
• Soldering, wiring, and harness assembly experience.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620).
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• U.S. Person eligibility to access controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, and validate electronic assemblies and embedded systems used in UAVs.
• Build and assemble prototype electronics including PCBs and harnesses.
• Perform quality inspections and functional testing to meet specs.
• Support development by assembling, wiring, and testing prototype hardware.
• Collaborate with engineers to diagnose and resolve testing issues.
• Use standard test equipment for bench testing and troubleshooting.
• Read technical drawings and follow instructions for accurate assembly.
• Execute test procedures, calibration, and inspection steps.
• Perform repair, rework, and root cause analysis on boards and assemblies.
• Support system integration for avionics and embedded systems.
