A Lead Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer is required for an industrial electrical design role supporting technically complex equipment, controls and facilities projects.

This Lead Electrical Engineer role is suited to an Electrical Engineer with strong industrial electrical systems design experience, client-facing capability and the ability to support projects through design, construction, installation and start-up.

The Lead Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer Role:

• Lead electrical design activity across industrial projects involving equipment, controls and facilities.
• Ensure client electrical requirements are addressed through accurate design, construction support and start-up planning.
• Work from client budgets, schedules, design criteria and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, project managers, coordinators, manufacturing teams, clients and suppliers.
• Perform engineering calculations for power and control system design.
• Plan and support equipment installation, start-up and commissioning requirements.
• Balance multiple projects while responding to changes in deadlines, scope and design.
• Travel to customer facilities when required, including overnight stays for design meetings, installation supervision and commissioning.

Lead Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical systems design experience within a consulting engineering firm or design/build electrical contractor.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA Codes.
• Engineering knowledge across at least five of the following areas: power systems, AC drives, lighting, gas detection, fire alarm, lighting control and lightning protection systems.
• Proficiency with Revit, SKM Power Tools and lighting calculation software.
• Experience delivering efficient and effective client service across multiple active projects.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, proactive and able to work effectively with internal teams, clients and suppliers.
• PE License.
• Experience with power regeneration, medium voltage systems or facility energy reduction.
