Job summary

STR Group is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee full-lifecycle electrical design, construction, and start-up for turnkey industrial projects. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure design compliance within budget and schedule.

The role demands 5+ years in industrial electrical systems and strong NEC/NFPA knowledge, with proficiency in Revit and SKM Power Tools. PE license preferred and ITAR compliance required for US-based work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years in industrial electrical systems design at a consulting firm or Design/Build contractor.
  • Proficiency with NEC and NFPA codes; experience with Revit, SKM Power Tools, and lighting calculation software.
  • Experience with at least 5 of the following: Power Systems, AC Drives, Lighting, Gas Detection, Fire Alarm, Lighting Control, or Lightning Protection Systems.
  • ITAR compliance: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • PE license preferred. Exposure to power regeneration, medium voltage systems, and facility energy reduction is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.

Position Summary

The Lead Electrical Engineer ensures client requirements are met through full-lifecycle electrical design, construction, and start-up. Working within budget, schedule, and design criteria, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional internal teams (engineers, project managers, manufacturing) and external stakeholders (clients and suppliers) to deliver turnkey industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes; proficient in Revit, SKM Power Tools, and lighting calculation software.
