Job description

The Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for ensuring the quality of technical electrical design. The SME collaborates closely with engineers during the design process to ensure accuracy and compliance with project scope, customer specifications, and standard practices. They serve as the primary communication link with R&D on technical topics and are experts in Material Handling Applications and the Intelligrated product portfolio. The SME also leads the resolution of critical technical issues on project sites by utilizing escalation and troubleshooting protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Design Quality

• Enforce technical design standards within Electrical Engineering.
• Ensure designs are accurate and compliant with scope, specifications, and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers iteratively during the design process, providing guidance and expertise.
• Coordinate with other SMEs to ensure quality handover.

Design Reviews

• Conduct reviews to verify compliance with requirements and standards.
• Maintain accountability for design accuracy and quality, addressing discrepancies.
• Hold sign-off authority for technical designs, ensuring standards are met before approval.

Collaboration with R&D

• Act as the primary communication driver with R&D on technical topics related to product dependencies, issues, and modifications.
• Facilitate the inclusion of new and updated products in configuration tools for PE readiness.
• Align project engineering with R&D, promoting knowledge exchange and best practices.

Technical Expertise

• Serve as a core technical expert in Material Handling Applications and the product portfolio.
• Stay current with industry advancements and trends.

Technical Escalation Resolution

• Lead the resolution of critical technical issues on project sites, using escalation and troubleshooting protocols.
• Provide effective solutions to minimize disruptions and ensure customer satisfaction.

Mentorship and Development

• Mentor engineers, sharing knowledge to enhance team capabilities.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Engineering Design Standards and Processes

• Drive development and maintenance of EE engineering processes and standards.
• Collaborate with the EE manager on standards development.
• Work with R&D on new product standards to reduce project costs.
