The Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for driving technical design quality in Electrical Engineering. The SME works closely with engineers during the design process, ensuring design accuracy and compliance with original scope, customer specifications, and standard build utilization. They serve as the main communication and collaboration driver with R&D for technical topics and are experts in Material Handling Applications and the Intelligrated product portfolio. The SME also leads technical escalation resolution when critical issues arise on project sites by leveraging the escalation and troubleshooting playbook.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Design Quality

• Enforce technical design standards within Electrical Engineering.
• Drive technical design quality within their specific discipline, ensuring designs are accurate and compliant with original scope, customer specifications, and standard build utilization.
• Collaborate with engineers during the design process, providing guidance and expertise.
• Coordinate with other functional SMEs to ensure quality turnover.

Design Reviews

• Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Ensure the accuracy and quality of designs, addressing issues or discrepancies as needed.
• Hold technical design sign-off authority to ensure all designs meet standards before final approval.

Collaboration with R&D

• Act as the main communication and collaboration driver with R&D for technical topics related to product dependencies, issues, and modifications.
• Drive the inclusion of new and modified products in configuration tools for PE implementations.
• Ensure alignment between project engineering and R&D, facilitating technical knowledge exchange and best practices.

Technical Expertise

• Serve as a fundamental technical expert within their discipline, providing deep knowledge of Material Handling Applications and the Intelligrated product portfolio.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in their field.

Technical Escalation Resolution

• Lead resolution of critical technical issues on project sites, using the escalation and troubleshooting playbook.
• Provide timely solutions to minimize project disruptions and ensure customer satisfaction.

Mentorship and Development

• Mentor and develop engineers within their discipline, sharing knowledge to enhance team capabilities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Engineering Design Standards and Processes

• Drive development and maintenance of EE engineering processes.
• Collaborate with the EE manager to develop and maintain department standards.
• Work with R&D to develop standards that reduce engineering project costs.
