• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical.
• 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in oil & gas or industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, control systems, and equipment.
• Experience drafting and reviewing calculations, drawings, specs, and reports.
• PE license preferred; strong leadership and project planning skills.

We are partnering with an established engineering consulting organization seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership for complex oil & gas and industrial engineering projects in Houston, TX. This opportunity is well-suited for an accomplished electrical engineering professional with extensive experience in industrial electrical systems, power distribution, equipment specification, and engineering project execution. The successful candidate will serve in a senior leadership capacity within the electrical engineering discipline, overseeing engineering deliverables, guiding technical teams, and supporting projects through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for electrical engineering activities across oil & gas and industrial projects.
• Lead and manage electrical engineering teams, providing technical direction and guidance throughout project execution.
• Oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical power distribution systems, controls, and associated equipment.
• Perform and review electrical equipment sizing, selection, technical evaluations, and alternative analyses.
• Prepare, review, and approve electrical calculations, equipment specifications, requisitions, material lists, technical reports, and engineering designs.
• Support engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for industrial facilities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, clients, vendors, and external stakeholders.
• Lead technical design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, regulations, and engineering standards.
• Support project scoping, estimating, scheduling, resource planning, and proposal development.
• Monitor engineering deliverables, project progress, and performance against established schedules.
• Identify project scope changes, evaluate technical risks, and develop solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Contribute to strategic engineering decisions, process improvements, and the development of engineering standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, ideally within oil & gas, industrial facilities, or related engineering environments.
• Extensive technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles, industrial power distribution, control systems, and electrical equipment.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing electrical calculations, engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Demonstrated experience supporting engineering projects from initial design through procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Advanced proficiency with electrical engineering software and design tools.
• Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Ability to manage complex engineering deliverables, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and communicate with senior stakeholders.
• Previous experience providing technical leadership or managing electrical engineering teams is highly desirable.
• Strong project planning, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
