Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Project Lead in Chicago to steer design staff in the development of electrical diagrams and cable schedules for nuclear power projects. The role involves coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, reviewing vendor drawings, and guiding field data collection.

You will produce wiring diagrams and schematics, interface with engineers, and oversee design integrity for medium-voltage and 480V systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting or high school diploma with relevant experience.
• 15-20 years of detailed wiring design experience for single-line, relay, metering diagrams including medium-voltage and 480V systems.
• Familiarity with digital control systems.
• Ability to produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians.
• Extensive AutoCAD and/or Microstation design experience on power plants or large facility projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and review production of electrical wiring drawings, and review and incorporate vendor drawings into the overall project design.
• Lead field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
• Be badge-ready for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
• Develop single-line diagrams, relay/ meter diagrams, and power system schematics.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams throughout the project.
