Job summary

Hussmann is seeking an Industrial Systems Lead Electrical Design Engineer to develop the complete electrical design solution for projects within the Non-Traditional Requests (NTR) team.

You will create schematics, wiring diagrams, IO, BOMs, and BOMs for racks/heat pumps/chillers controllers, and collaborate with customers, manufacturing, quality, and service during manufacturing, system verification, and field startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of refrigeration, heat pump, and chiller engineering experience.
• Knowledge of CO2 systems and electronic/electrical sub-systems for parallel compressors.
• Ability to draft in AutoCAD and create/edit electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, controls, and PLCs; good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design on Industrial Systems Engineering projects, adhering to department goals and standards.
• Design electrical systems and controls, including PLC type, for refrigeration, heat pump, and chiller products having mainly CO2 as refrigerant.
• Implement knowledge and skills related to electrical power distribution and controls.
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales to develop the required product requirements.
• Work with vendors, business partners, consultants, and Engineering of Record (EORs) to collect data and requirements for components.
• Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Hussmann products in comparison to other manufacturers.
• Communicate requirements and changes to all relevant departments.
• Lead the electrical design on NTR Industrial Systems Engineering projects, adhering to department goals and standards.
