Job summary

SubCom is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead high-reliability analog and digital circuit designs for next-generation network elements. This role involves planning, platforming, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to drive design from concept through manufacture.

The candidate will mentor teams, conduct DFMEA reviews, and develop GUI-based test tools while supporting firmware integration and factory qualification. Strong leadership and hands-on expertise are essential.

Qualifications

MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 14+ years of experience.
Strong foundation in analog/digital circuit design and PCBA development.
Experience with product realization processes, hands-on testing, and technology transfer.
Proven ability to lead design reviews, including DFMEA, with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in OCAD, LabVIEW, Spice/PSpice, and firmware integration concepts.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design from concept to manufacture for terminal or undersea network elements.
Manage and improve development processes; conduct DFMEA reviews.
Collaborate with electrical, optical, firmware, reliability, and mechanical teams and vendors.
Develop test plans, verify designs, and support factory testing and integration.
