Job summary

Compass Systems Inc. seeks a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead advanced electrical design, development, and integration across the full lifecycle in our engineering and manufacturing environment.

You will translate system requirements into robust electrical designs, review schematics, and support products from concept through production. The role leads technical solutions and collaborates with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure reliability and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
• Expert-level experience with PCB design tools for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Strong understanding of PCB design principles.
• Experience with electrical system integration and hardware development lifecycle processes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior electrical engineering support for product development, system upgrades, and production efforts.
• Lead electrical design activities at both the system architecture level and PCB design level.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in PCB design, schematic capture, layout, and design optimization.
• Create, review, and approve electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
• Utilize advanced PCB design tools to develop manufacturable circuit board designs.
• Perform analysis, troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and corrective actions for complex electrical issues.
• Support prototype development, testing, qualification, and transition into production manufacturing.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and technicians.
• Participate in design reviews, requirements development, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support manufacturing through design for manufacturability (DFM), testability, and production readiness activities.
• Evaluate new technologies, components, and design approaches to improve product performance and reliability.
