Job summary

First Point Group seeks a Lead Electrical CSU Professional to head the commissioning and startup program for the Winnemucca/Thacker Pass project in NV. You will guide a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Client teams to implement an integrated CSU strategy.

The role involves overseeing pre-commissioning activities, planning CSU, and identifying risks, budgets, and performance trends to ensure project goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent with 10–13 years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills with mentorship focus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across disciplines.
• Experience with mining projects preferred.
• Working knowledge of project management tools and industry codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs focused on employee competencies, technical skills, and operational readiness for project and plant operations.
• Develop comprehensive technical learning programs to effectively prepare employees for safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations in accordance with a systematic approach to training.
• Partner with Operations Managers and the Training Manager to design, implement, and deliver approved technical training programs for the project or plant.
• Provide operational leadership, direction, and guidance to instructors and assigned administrative personnel.
• Coordinate and obtain technical assistance and subject-matter expertise as required.
• Conduct quality reviews to improve training effectiveness, processes, efficiency, and cost performance.
• Research and evaluate advancements in educational technology, training methodologies, and technical learning practices.
• Recommend and implement improvements, modifications, and enhancements to technical training programs based on operational needs and performance requirements.
• Serve as a liaison during audits conducted by clients, regulatory authorities, certification organizations, and other external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Project Management, and Client representatives to support CSU readiness and execution.
• Monitor progress against established schedules, milestones, and performance objectives and proactively address issues that may affect successful project execution.
