Job summary

Perrigo Company plc is seeking an Engineering Technician with Electrical Controls experience to join the 1st shift at the Grand Rapids Oral Care Plant. You will troubleshoot, service, and repair automated systems, PLCs, HMIs, and robotic work cells across the site, driving improvements and mentoring junior technicians.

Responsibilities include developing equipment changes, updating documentation, and supporting GMP compliance while collaborating with engineers on capital projects to enhance

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent is required.
• 5-8 years in a maintenance/engineering role servicing industrial equipment.
• Must have DOL Electrical Journeyman Certificate or MI electrical license.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read/write electrical and PLC documentation.
• Experience with electrical/mechanical safety practices.
• Strong computer skills (Word/Excel).
• Training in PLCs, VFDs, motion control; Beckhoff/HMI experience preferred.
• Robotics experience (Fanuc) and vision inspection systems (Cognex/Keyence).
• AutoCAD software experience and FDA regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service and repair automation systems and robotic work cells.
• Develop, design, implement and validate equipment changes or new installations.
• Mentor technicians and provide technical direction.
• Create and update prints, schematics and PLC programs.
• Ensure SOPs and safety standards are followed.
• Support GMP requirements and capital projects with engineers.
