Job summary

Socket.dev seeks an Electrical Engineer III to oversee and lead the design of electrical control systems for safe, efficient operation of Forgent products, while meeting company quality and production standards and client documentation requirements.

You will drive design reviews, select components, develop test plans, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and push continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with leadership or advanced technical responsibilities.
• Ability to design and lead electrical projects based on functional requirements and industry standards.
• Experience supporting product assembly, manufacturing, and testing processes.
• Proficiency with electrical design software and engineering tools.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the design and development of electrical control systems, ensuring alignment with standards, customer requirements, and schedules.
• Review and interpret customer specifications and project documents for guidance to teams.
• Utilize design software and tools to develop electrical design packages.
• Improve design processes by implementing standardized practices and systems.
• Evaluate and select electrical and electronic components for control systems.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support for internal teams and customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
• Create training materials, documentation, and procedures to support engineers.
• Stay current with industry trends and product advancements to support innovation.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Provide on-site technical and customer support as needed with minimal travel.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and housekeeping policies.
