ConsumerAffairs publishes local buyers guides that help people choose service providers in their city. We are hiring a CONTRACT Managing Editor to run the program day-to-day, overseeing production, editing and quality from research through publication.

This contract role focuses on coordinating editorial workflows, QA, and adding local insights while maintaining high standards amid a high-volume program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in editorial, content operations or a related field.
• Experience editing or managing writers/editors.
• Strong attention to detail and pattern recognition across content.
• Excellent organizational and project-management skills.
• Rigorous research, sourcing and fact-checking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate editorial production of new and updated local buyers guides.
• Assign articles to editors and track work through publication.
• Review editors’ work for accuracy, completeness and adherence to standards.
• Provide actionable feedback and identify recurring quality issues.
• Keep production moving across a high volume of assignments and deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and data quality.
