Qualifications

• Seven+ years in journalism with at least three in newsroom management.
• Deep knowledge of Eugene-Springfield, Oregon, or Pacific Northwest region.
• Proven track record of editing with clarity, context, and non-partisanship.

Responsibilities

• Editorial Direction: lead daily newsroom planning, reporting, sourcing and first-line editing.
• Community Engagement: oversee engagement work and reader feedback programs.
• Maintain and Strengthen Standards: ensure fairness, accuracy and clarity in all content.
• Innovation and Growth: leverage digital tools and audience insights to grow impact.
