Job summary

Cape is building America’s private, privacy-first mobile network. You will own the architecture and implementation of an edge data distribution system for private 5G bubbles, guiding a team through complex distributed systems challenges from cloud to edge.

You’ll work closely with product, customers, and field engineers to set technical direction, ship robust services, and ensure privacy and security requirements drive design decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production.
• Strong background in event-driven architectures and messaging.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams.
• Ability to communicate guarantees clearly to customers and engineers.
• Experience working with customer-facing product teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architecture and technical direction, defining guarantees and data flow.
• Hands-on engineering leadership to build core edge services.
• Define the technical roadmap and prioritize investments.
• Recruit, develop, and retain distributed systems engineers.
• Partner with product and customers to translate constraints into solutions.
• Solve customer problems by shipping and validating in real environments.
