The role covers transthoracic, transesophageal, dobutamine and stress echo procedures, including contrast and bubble studies to improve image quality; standard protocols govern all exams.

Qualifications

• Graduation of an echocardiography program required.
• Must obtain an appropriate credential (RDCS, RCS, or CRCS) within one year from the date of graduation of echocardiography program.

Responsibilities

• The echocardiography sonographer independently performs adult echocardiograms and reports preliminary impressions.
• All exams are performed within standard protocols guided by ICAEL.
• Performs transthoracic, transesophageal, dobutamine and stress exercise echocardiograms. Performs contrast and bubble studies to enhance image quality.
