Job summary

SMG Cardiology Specialists is seeking a Senior Echocardiographer in Norfolk, VA. The role involves performing and analyzing advanced echocardiographic procedures, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echo, to assess cardiac function and pathology.

You will lead, mentor staff, and support quality initiatives in a day-shift, full-time setting. The position requires 3 years of echocardiography experience, accredited education, and relevant certifications (RDCS/RCCS/RCS/ACS) or BLS.

Qualifications

• 3 years of echocardiography experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program or equivalent education per IAC guidelines.
• Must have at least one of the listed certifications (RDCS, RCCS, RCS, ACS) or BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze 2D, Doppler, transesophageal and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart disease and blood flow abnormalities.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to provide accurate diagnostic information; mentor junior staff and train scheduling.
