Qualifications

• Requires QSM eligibility as defined by CT Office of Early Childhood
• Education verified in OEC Registry
• Must hold one of: ECE degree, or ECE credits with different degree, or ECTC credential
• Progress toward bachelor-level qualifications by 2029

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership within the classroom and set staff expectations
• Maintain active supervision and ensure safety, ratio, and supervision requirements
• Plan and oversee developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with CT ELDS
• Conduct observations and assessments and document findings
• Establish an inclusive, engaging classroom environment for children's growth
• Coach staff on classroom management and curriculum delivery
• Maintain strong communication with families about activities and development
• Ensure compliance with OEC regulations, YMCA policies, and reporting standards
• Oversee documentation including attendance and incident reports
