Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a Childcare Coordinator-ECE to direct operations of the Early Childhood Education site in Ellington, CT. The role ensures compliance with OEC regulations and YMCA procedures while delivering high-quality child development services.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the position supervises 20–30 ECE staff, develops programs, manages enrollment and budgeting, and fosters community engagement to support families and children.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in child development or related field is required.
• Minimum 4 years direct experience with children under 13 years, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ECE programming, supervision, coordination, promotion, parent and school relations, curriculum, scheduling, enrollment and evaluation.
• Develop and implement programs for all sites assigned.
• Trains, supervises, mentors, and evaluates ECE staff; supervises 20-30 employees.
• Ensure site follows OEC regulations and licensing requirements with Association Guidelines.
• Recruit and onboard volunteers; collaborate with local schools.
